The city of Meknes is currently holding its 14th Annual International Freestyle Maroc Urban Dance Festival, taking place Sept.4 to 17.
The event gathers artists and athletes from countries across the world, including Morocco, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Senegal, Tunisia, and Congo.
Participants compete in a series of judged competitions for hip hop, break dance, electro dance, popping, house dance, parkour, rap, beat box, and graffiti.
The competition is being supervised by 20 experts from Morocco and abroad.
The event aims to put the spotlight on hip-hop dance culture and provide a unique platform for young talents interested in hip hop culture, explained the organizers. It also seeks to discover rising Moroccan artists and build community between them.
The event will also include other activities, including street shows, artistic concerts, a popping workshop, a house dance workshop, and film projections.
